A damaged carbide tooth doesn't always mean you need a new blade. We inspect each carbide-tipped circular saw blade for chipped, broken or missing teeth and replace damaged carbide tips when needed. We also inspect the saw plate for distortion and other damage that could affect how the blade runs. Necessary repairs and retipping are completed before final sharpening, helping restore proper cutting performance and extend the usable life of the blade.
Precision Carbide Saw Blade Sharpening, Hammering & Tensioning
Professional carbide saw blade sharpening involves more than grinding the teeth. Before sharpening, we inspect the blade for tooth damage, plate flatness, runout and proper tension. The saw plate is professionally hammered and straightened to correct distortion and restore proper tension so the blade tracks accurately through the cut. The carbide teeth are then precision sharpened on CNC equipment to restore the cutting edges and correct tooth geometry, helping produce smoother cuts, reduce cutting resistance and extend blade life between sharpenings.
Saw Blade Flatness & Runout Inspection
Every saw blade we service goes through a detailed inspection to identify problems that could affect cutting performace. We check the carbide teeth, saw plate, flatness, runout and blade tension. Each plate usually needs hammering and straightening before final sharpening. Our inspection process allows us to verify the blade is running true and, maintain runout within +/- 0.001 in. (0.025mm) for clean, consistent cutting performance.
